About the role
Vammo is building the electric mobility infrastructure of Latin America through electric motorcycles and battery swapping. As a Logistics Analyst on the Supply Chain team, your main focus will be international imports: making sure vehicles, batteries, cabinets and spare parts arrive on time, at the right cost and fully compliant. Depending on the team's needs, you will also support domestic purchasing. This is a hands-on role focused on execution, follow-up and continuous improvement.
What it's like to work here
We are a fast-growing startup, and our day-to-day reflects that. Be ready for:
-
Priorities that change often, sometimes within the same day: an urgent shipment, a new supplier, a hub opening, a customs issue.
-
Processes still being built. Many routines don't have a ready-made playbook yet; you will help create them.
-
Ambiguity and incomplete information. You will often need to move forward, make sensible decisions and adjust along the way.
-
A broad scope. Besides imports, you will step in on domestic purchasing and other supply chain demands whenever the team needs it.
If you prefer a stable, highly defined routine with a fixed scope, this role is probably not the best fit. If you enjoy movement, learning fast and building things, you will feel at home.
Responsibilities
Import & Foreign Trade (main focus)
-
Follow up international shipments end to end (maritime FCL/LCL, air and courier), from PO and booking to customs clearance and delivery to our hubs.
-
Coordinate daily with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, trading companies and customs brokers to track shipments and resolve operational issues.
-
Review and validate import documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, certificates) before shipment, ensuring consistency with PO and NCM.
-
Support customs processes (DUIMP, NCM classification, LI/licensing when applicable, inspection channels), acting quickly on discrepancies or document corrections.
-
Monitor import costs (freight, taxes, AFRMM, storage, demurrage) and support landed cost calculations.
-
Keep the shipment tracking database accurate and share regular status updates with internal teams (Operations, Inventory, Finance, Maintenance), flagging risks early.
Domestic Purchasing (support, according to team needs)
-
Support domestic purchasing processes: quotations, cost comparison, negotiation and PO issuance.
-
Help develop and qualify local suppliers for parts, supplies and services.
-
Follow up on delivery dates, receiving and invoice validation with Inventory and Finance teams.
Data & Continuous Improvement
-
Build basic reports and analyses (lead times, costs, supplier performance, delays).
-
Support the implementation of process improvements and SOPs to increase efficiency and reliability in logistics operations.
Hard skills
-
3+ years of experience in import/foreign trade, plus some experience with domestic purchasing (procurement).
-
Experience in manufacturing, sourcing or purchasing in the two-wheeler (motorcycles, scooters) or automotive industry.
-
Technical knowledge of two-wheelers or vehicles (components, parts and how they work), enough to discuss specifications with suppliers and internal teams.
-
Solid knowledge of Brazilian import processes: Incoterms, NCM, DUIMP/Siscomex, import taxes and customs clearance flow.
-
Experience with quotations, supplier negotiation and POs.
-
Good command of Excel/Google Sheets and tracking tools.
-
Intermediate to advanced English for daily written and verbal communication with international suppliers.
-
Degree in Foreign Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.
Nice to have
-
Experience importing vehicles, batteries, electronics or automotive parts.
-
Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory routines.
-
Mandarin.
-
Previous experience in startups or high-growth environments.
Soft skills
-
Adaptability: stays productive when priorities, plans and processes change; reorganizes quickly without losing quality.
-
Comfort with ambiguity: moves forward with incomplete information, asks the right questions and makes sensible decisions.
-
Ownership: takes responsibility for issues until they are solved, even when it's not "their part" of the process.
-
Hands-on & organized: manages multiple shipments, POs and priorities at the same time, with discipline and deadlines under control.
-
Attention to detail: ensures accuracy in tracking, data, costs and documentation; a document error can mean a red channel and extra costs.
-
Clear & proactive communication: shares information objectively and anticipates problems before they become delays.
